Non Surgical Treatments

COSMETIC LASER TREATMENTS

We are pleased to announce the addition of a new Cutera Laser System to our practice.  A number of different treatments can be performed to address wrinkles, uneven skin texture, large pores, pigmentation, redness, rosacea, spider veins and unwanted hair.  Some pigmented and vascular skin lesions can also be treated, as well as some scars.

Skin Rejuvenation:

Laser Genesis – The laser genesis procedure is used to safely, discretely and effectively treat scars and stretchmarks, and diffuse and excessive redness.  Laser Genesis stimulates collagen production.  It is a comfortable, non-ablative, non-invasive form of skin therapy.  Doctors and clients have noticed a dramatic improvement in uneven skin texture, large pores, and fine lines and wrinkles.  Suitable for the face and décolletage.  You may return to work after the treatment, with a flushed look which may last from a few minutes to a few hours.  Makeup can be worn immediately.  Usually 4 – 6 treatments are required.

IPL – IPL treatment (LimeLight) uses intense pulsed light therapy to reduce pigmentation, redness, blotchiness, freckles and sun damage to your skin.  After your IPL treatment the treated lesions will gradually fade and slowly disappear. Suitable for the face, décolletage and hands.  The treated area darkens to a mild brown to a dark brown colour before flaking off over 5 – 7 days.  Makeup can be worn to help conceal the colour change.  Usually 4 – 6 treatments are required.

Laser Resurfacing:

Pearl – During a Pearl treatment, the top layer of the skin is treated with pulses of light. A portion of the epidermis (skin surface) is gently removed and a natural protective dressing is formed on the skin’s surface. Most patients feel a series of brief pinches during the treatments. After 3 – 5 days, the protective dressing peels off revealing new, healthy, vibrant skin underneath.

The Pearl laser replaces the entire top sun-damaged layer of skin with new healthy skin. Simultaneously, it sends heat to deeper layers of the skin stimulating new collagen growth, filling out and decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. New collagen growth continues for 4 – 6 weeks post-treatment. The combination of new skin and decreased wrinkles results in a healthier, more youthful appearance.  One or two treatments can be performed.

Vein Treatment:

CoolGlide – The CoolGlide laser delivers precise dosages of energy to each capillary, with a minimal risk to the skin.  During these treatments light energy is delivered through a special handpiece to the targeted capillary.  The energy is then absorbed by the blood vessel.  The heat/energy absorption causes a thermal coagulation (clogging) of the blood vessel.  The clogged vessel is then slowly absorbed by the body.  Suitable for the face and legs.  Usually 1 – 3 treatments are required.

Costs:

Costs vary according to the type and number of treatments required.  We do have packages available which provide a discount on some treatments.
